The purpose of the symposium is to bring together teams involved in the research, care, prevention, screening and treatment of cancer among people with intellectual disabilities. This is the opportunity for research professionals, oncologists, psychiatrists, psychologists, sociologists, educators, field practitioners and families to meet and share their know-how, knowledge and experiences, and provide the basis for collaboration.

 

 

Symposium 2022, Edinburgh (Scotland).

The third International Symposium on Cancer and Intellectual Disabilities will be held in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 2022, and will be hosted by Dr. Diane Willis.

 

 

Inter-symposium 2020, Oslo (Norway).Image inter symposium Frambu

 An inter-symposium is organized by Frambu Resource Centre for Rare Disorders (Frambu) and the Norwegian National Advisory Unitat and Mrs. Stine Skorpen at the Frambu Center in Siggerud (near Oslo) in Norway on 18 and 19 May 2020.

Symposium 2018, Montpellier (France), Oncodefi.

The second symposium took place from 10 to 12 October 2018 at Montpellier City Hall, organized in collaboration with the « Canceropole Grand-Ouest ».
The event brought together 120 participants, 29 speakers from 12 countries: Australia, Canada, Spain, France, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, USA, allowing for different topics to be discussed.

Professor Jacques Rouëssé, a member of the National Academy of Medicine, was the honorary president of the 2018 symposium.

Symposium 2014, Montpellier (France), Oncodefi.

The first International Symposium was held from February 5 to 7, 2014, in Montpellier, in collaboration with « Canceropole Grand Sud-Ouest ». The conference brought together 110 speakers and participants from 11 countries : Belgium, Canada, Finland, France, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, United Kingdom, Switzerland, USA.
Professor Marie-Odile Réthoré, a member of the Academy of Medicine, was the keynote speaker and honorary president of the symposium.
